HOME FACE South Street Gallery features the paintings of Jeremiah Eck, an architect, painter, and the author of “The Distinctive Home: A Vision of Timeless Design,’’ “The Face of Home,’’ and “House in the Landscape: Siting Your Home Naturally.’’ Recognized as a landscape painter, Eck was elected an exhibiting member at the Providence Art Club, the second-oldest art organization in the United States.

MUSIC FEST The Annual South Shore Indie Music Festival features some of the region’s best live bands performing edgy, original music, including Aldous Collins, Chachi Carvalho, Will Dailey, Shea Rose, Wheat, and others — 18 live bands in all. The event’s motto, “Art Sustains Us,’’ and programs speak to the theme of sustainable and environmental consciousness.
