Eddie, 12, loves the outdoors and making people laugh
Eddie likes adventure. (andrea york)

Sunday’s Child is a weekly column featuring a child currently in foster care awaiting adoption.

Eddie is a sweet, fun-loving, 12-year-old boy of Hispanic descent who loves to stay busy. He is friendly and kind. Eddie loves to try new things and has a sense of humor. In addition to making people laugh, he loves to play with Legos and read books. He is also a self-taught artist.

Eddie thrives on individual attention and he loves to ask questions and share stories. Eddie describes himself as active and says that he loves the “wilderness, comic books, going on adventures, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon.’’ He also enjoys sports like baseball, wrestling, basketball, and gymnastics.

Eddie attends a therapeutic school where he is well behaved and organized, but can be restless and hyperactive at times. An individual educational plan (IEP) for social and emotional needs is put in place to help Eddie be successful at school. Eddie is provided with sensory tools to help him at school and at home. Eddie says his favorite subjects at school are art, gym, social studies, and science.

Eddie would do well in a single-parent or two-parent female home with older children or no other children. Eddie is looking for an active and fun family that is patient, calm, supportive, and loving. He also shares that he hopes that his future family enjoys movie nights. His wish is to become part of a permanent family.
