Commonplace in Florida but infrequent in Massachusetts, this gated condo community wrapped around Black Rock Country Club insists on uniformity: Every one of the 137 condos at the Residences at Black Rock is Shingle-style.

No such strictures apply to the interior, though. And this deceptively large home takes full advantage of its freedom with a teak countertop in the kitchen, Tuscan columns that delineate the living room, and a finished basement that adds roughly 1,800 square feet of living space with a wet bar; media, exercise, and entertainment rooms; a double laundry room; a walk-in closet; and a full bath.

Let’s start in the living room, where the gas fireplace has a white-marble surround and is flanked by built-in cabinetry. The view, seen through glass doors crowned with transoms, is of a deck and flat backyard. The room has a cathedral ceiling and oak hardwood floors. Built-in cabinetry with mirrored tops separate this space and the dining room, where a chandelier of (electric) candles pinpoints the spot for a table that seats eight. Glass doors open onto a deck accessible from the living and dining rooms and the kitchen.

In the kitchen, the teak counter sits atop an island with bead board, custom posts, a sink, and seating for four. The kitchen also has a built-in cutting board and beige-and-camel granite bathed in the light from three windows over the main sink. French country-style cabinetry surrounds the high-end appliances, including a stainless-steel six-burner gas stove. In the family room off the kitchen, a triangular transom window draws the eye, but the wood-burning fireplace is the focal point.

Need to get away? Head to the other end of the house and the master retreat, which has a sitting area, clerestory windows, two walk-in closets with pocket doors, recessed lighting, and an en suite bath with a double vanity topped with cream-colored Corian counters, a shower with a rain shower head, a water closet, and an oval whirlpool bathtub set under a bank of windows.

A bedroom with an en suite bath and a walk-in closet; a half bath; a mudroom; and a study with built-in cabinetry, wainscot, extensive millwork, and windows with shutters complete the first floor.

Stairs lead to a loft big enough for a couch and television. The loft offers access to a bedroom, a full bath, and another room that would be great as a second office or hobby space.

The home has an attached two-car garage with a third bay for a golf cart. Membership in the country club is not included.

The listing agents, Maryann “Midge’’ Durgin and Deb Boles of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Hingham, will hold an open house on Sunday, Feb. 21, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
