TABLES openings, closings, and chatter from the restaurant scene
Aram Boghosian for The Boston Globe

Food-truck-turned-restaurant Bon Me has opened a new branch at Chestnut Hill Square (200 Boylston St. at Florence Street). It’s the fifth brick-and-mortar, along with six food trucks. Fortify yourself before shopping with noodle and rice bowls, banh mi, deviled tea eggs, and bubble tea.

Tickets are on sale for the 27th annual Boston Wine Festival, which kicks off with a grand opening reception Jan. 8 at the Boston Harbor Hotel (70 Rowes Wharf at Atlantic Avenue). Sample more than 50 wines paired with food from Meritage chef Daniel Bruce. Wine dinners, reserved separately, will take place throughout the month. Tickets for the opening soiree are $100 at www.boston winefestival.net.

Visit local Shake Shacks throughout January and feel a bit virtuous doing so: All proceeds from the limited-edition Mayo’s LineShacker, the confectionery brainchild of New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo, benefit Boston Medical Center. It’s a vanilla frozen custard with whipped cream and toasted pecans.

Max & Leo’s Artisan Pizza has added a Fenway location. Coal-oven, 15-inch pies are now being served at sporty party-plex Game On (82 Lansdowne St. at Brookline Avenue), along with personal pizzas (margherita and pepperoni) for weekday lunches. There are also hot dogs, calzones, and wings. Max & Leo’s has a Newton outpost, too; Game On is also home to Ping-Pong parlor Blazing Paddles.

Visit the newish Portsmouth, N.H., branch of Row 34 oyster bar (5 Portwalk Place at Hanover Street) on Tuesday nights in January for a guest chef pop-up series. Notables like Coppa and Toro’s Jamie Bissonnette and Townsman’s Matt Jennings will prepare their own dishes (the regular menu is also available).

Gracie’s ice cream parlor in Somerville’s Union Square has shuttered for the season. It reopens on March 1 with an expanded menu of cookies, brownies, and pies (22 Union Square at Webster Avenue). KARA BASKIN
