MIRIAM FRIED The violinist, a fixture on the New England Conservatory faculty, celebrates her 70th birthday with a two-concert marathon performance of all six of Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin. HANDEL AND HAYDN SOCIETY Bach is the order of the day as the venerable organization opens its 202nd season with a concert that includes five of the composer’s works, including the Magnificat in D and two cantatas, as well as a brief but sublime motet by Heinrich Schütz. BOSTON MUSICA VIVA The contemporary music ensemble’s program honors two composers who died earlier this year: Pierre Boulez (“Le Marteau sans Maître’’) and Steven Stucky (“Cantus’’).
