When all you see is two evils, consider a third option

Your editorial“Sane Republicans should abandon Trump’’ assumes that Hillary Clinton is the nation’s best choice for the presidency. Polls suggest that the majority of voters see both Clinton and Donald Trump as untrustworthy, unlikable, or both. I believe that Libertarian Gary Johnson is the best choice, and I was happy to read that Mitt Romney is considering endorsing him.

The Globe should take a careful look at Johnson’s record, his character, and his platform. Surely there are members of both parties, as well as many independents, who are unhappy with the choice between the major nominees and would prefer a reasonable alternative.
