The 6-foot senior guided the Warriors to the championship in the town’s Hoops For Hope Summer League basketball tournament. Casey, who has committed to playing for Merrimack College, scored 23 points in the semifinal and 24 in the title game.

LYNN

The Lynn native was named the head coach of the Salem State baseball team. Donovan has been the Vikings’ pitching coach and recruiting assistant since 2015, and also runs the North Shore Tigers AAU program.

The 6-3, 230-pound sophomore tight end reeled in a touchdown among five catches for 86 total yards in Westfield State’s 34-21 win against Nichols to open the season Sept. 2.
