Recent bird sightings as reported to the Massachusetts Audubon Society:

?Provincetown: At Race Point Beach, there was a Pacific loon, 70 red-throated loons, 40 common loons, seven red-necked grebes, 26 northern gannets, 250 sanderlings, 200 dunlins, 18 common murres, six thick-billed murres, 2,200 razorbills, 70 black-legged kittiwakes, 154 Iceland gulls, two glaucous gulls, and a snowy owl.

?Ipswich: Birds tallied included a greater white-fronted goose, four snow geese, a turkey vulture, a northern harrier, 40 horned larks, a Lapland longspur, and red-headed woodpeckers.

?Cape Ann: There were 23 common loons, 10 red-necked grebes, two redheads, two king eiders, a Barrow’s goldeneye, 31 purple sandpipers, five Iceland gulls, four thick-billed murres, and two razorbills.

?Miscellaneous: Reports included a northern shrike at Heard Pond in Wayland; 45 rusty blackbirds in Waltham; red-headed woodpeckers in Boston and Worcester; a yellow-headed blackbirdin Middleborough; and nine fish crows in Framingham.
