With family, friends, and supporters gathered for the school’s annual gala, the Perkins School for the Blind launched a major new campaign, called BlindNewWorld, to demystify blindness and break down barriers for people who are blind. The campaign was spearheaded by Corinne Grousbeck, chair of the Perkins School’s board of trustees. The gala, held at the school in Watertown, featured a performance by Tavares, the R&B/funk band that formed in Rhode Island but later moved to New Bedford.
