Community theater: The Canton Community Theatre is showing the Pulitzer Prize-winning production “You Can’t Take It With You,’’ by Moss Hart and George S. Interactive lecture: Join the proprietor of the Brattle Book Shop in Boston, Kenneth Gloss, at the Thomas Crane Public Library at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, for a free lecture on some of his favorite stories throughout the years. Known also for his role on the PBS program “Antiques Roadshow,’’ Gloss will offer appraisals of old and rare books, manuscripts, and magazines.

ROCKLAND

Character breakfast: Jac’s Café is hosting a breakfast buffet fund-raiser 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, for Play Areas for Rockland Kids, a community-driven nonprofit committed to creating and updating parks. The breakfast buffet will feature characters from Turn the Page Entertainment in Bridgewater, face painting, door prizes, and a raffle. Tickets are $10 per person. Dementia wellness: The Sharon Council on Aging will host the first of a three-part free community educational and interactive discussion titled “Wellness in the Person with Dementia’’ 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Sponsored by the Sharon Public Library and Orchard Cove in Canton, the program is for people fighting the disease, their families, and caregivers.
