Singers, actors, dancers — the kids who came to the auditions for “Lost in Wonderland’’ had to be all three, and, like anyone who auditions, brave souls, too.

“Lost in Wonderland’’ is an original musical adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland’’ stories written by artistic director Joel Mercier for the New Hampshire Theatre Factory’s Stage Setters Youth Program. It is part of NHTF’s first full season of programming and opens at the Derry Opera House at the end of March.

Madison Barton, 12, of Concord, N.H., puts some flair into a dance number during the audition. She won the part of Mrs. Mouse and will also be in the Queen’s Entourage, playing a young oyster.
