Staged reading set for Jack Beatty play
By Carly Sitrin
Globe Correspondent

Longtime newsman Jack Beatty is coming to Black Box Lab at Stage 284 in Hamilton for a one-night performance of his new play, “The Battle Not Begun: Munich 1938,’’ about the meetings between Adolf Hitler and British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. This will be the second staged reading of the play — the first was in March — starring Tony nominee Brian Murray as Chamberlain and local actor Jeremiah Kissel as Hitler. The Oct. 22 show will feature a talkback session with Beatty, a former Atlantic Monthly editor now news analyst on the NPR show “On Point,’’ and Ed Siegel, critic-at-large with WBUR’s ARTery. Black Box Lab’s artistic director Myriam Cyr will be directing.
