You don’t need a manual to enjoy a family vacation

RE “FUN? You bet. Relaxing? Not exactly’’ (Travel, July 31): Get a grip — is this the first generation to travel with babies? Must people consult an expert before making every decision? Must they travel with every gadget they own?

Slow down, use your common sense, enjoy your trip and your children without all the angst, equipment, and second-guessing. It’ll be much easier, and you’ll enjoy the ride.

My credentials: four daughters, nine grandchildren, many wonderful road trips.
