Gloria Mantas was about to close her Roslindale convenience store early Sunday when a group of teenagers swarmed inside, throwing and stealing items before rushing outside.
“I was waiting for my last customer to finish [pumping] gas, and all of a sudden a storm of kids — 20 to 25 kids — stormed in here and tried to pick out my candy, my drinks, anything they wanted,’’ said Mantas, who has owned the ALFA Auto Fuel gas station and convenience store on Washington Avenue for 36 years.
“And in less than a minute, they were gone.’’
Surveillance video taken at the store shows the group rushing inside, grabbing merchandise, and then spilling out of the store.
Mantas said she immediately locked her doors and called the police after the group left just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
