Don’t have time to walk a dog? Allergic to cats?
Through Sept. 25, the MSPCA will waive the standard $75 rabbit adoption fee as part of its annual “We Got Buns, Hun!’’ adoptathon.
“Believe it or not, a lot of people don’t know we have rabbits available for adoption,’’ said Mike Keiley, the director of adoption at the MSPCA’s Nevins Farm in Methuen.
Free adoption is available at MSPCA locations in Methuen, Jamaica Plain, and Centerville. All rabbits are spayed or neutered and receive behavior and health checks.
Keiley encourages everyone looking for a rabbit or other pet to go to a shelter rather than a breeder or pet store. “It’s important to make sure that these animals that need homes are getting them,’’ he said.
All ages, sizes, and colors are available for adoption at all three locations. “We have lots of amazing rabbits,’’ Keiley said.
