Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops took on new wave at the penultimate concert of their Tanglewood season Friday night, where they were joined by the (self-proclaimed) “World’s Greatest Party Band’’: The B-52’s. With help from the orchestra, the group – Cindy Wilson, Fred Schneider, and Kate Pierson — performed a set that included some of their greatest hits, such as “Love Shack,’’ “Private Idaho,’’ and “Rock Lobster.’’ It was the band’s first time performing at Tanglewood. The Pops concluded their summer run in the Berkshires with a “Dancing Under the Stars’’-themed swing show Saturday evening.
