The New England Revolution on Wednesday acquired forward Femi Hollinger-Janzen from Minnesota United FC in exchange for goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth, 29, who spent eight seasons in New England (2009-16). Shuttleworth made 127 appearances, 124 starts, had 34 shutouts, and compiled a 46-53-28 regular-season record. “The entire New England Revolution organization thanks Bobby for his years of service. We wish him well in the next phase of his career with Minnesota,’’ said Revolution general manager Michael Burns. “We are pleased to have Femi back on the roster for the 2017 season and look forward to welcoming him back to the club.’’ Hollinger-Janzen, 23, was a third-round selection (51st overall) of the Revolution in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. He had two goals in 19 games in 2016 for New England before being taken by Minnesota in the December expansion draft.
Maradona probed in hotel altercation
Police in Madrid were called to investigate an altercation involving Argentina soccer legend Diego Maradona and his girlfriend at a local hotel, authorities said. Officers were dispatched after a call from the hotel, but found no evidence of any serious disturbance after talking to Maradona and girlfriend Rocio Oliva. The 56-year-old was in the Spanish capital to watch his former club Napoli play Real Madrid in a Champions League matchup. Real Madrid rallied for a 3-1 victory over Napoli.

Jaguars re-sign backup QB Henne
The Jacksonville Jaguars re-signed quarterback Chad Henne and defensive tackle Abry Jones. Henne already was under contract for the 2017 season, scheduled to make $3 million, so he restructured his deal and likely took a pay cut. Jones signed a four-year deal worth $16 million, with $6.5 million guaranteed . . . The Tennessee Titans likely will hold quarterback Marcus Mariota, who is recovering from a broken fibula, out of workouts until training camp . . . The New York Jets released left tackle Ryan Clady after just one season in which he played only nine games because of a shoulder injury . . . The Chicago Bears signed offensive lineman Eric Kush to a two-year contract.

Boston College defensive back John Johnson and linebacker Matt Milano were invited to the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis Feb. 28-March 6 . . . Dodgers sign former Giants’ P Romo
Righthanded reliever Sergio Romo officially signed a $3 million, one-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers after nine seasons with the archrival San Francisco Giants. Romo’s deal includes $250,000 in performance bonuses, with $125,000 each for appearing in 50 and 60 games. He is likely to be the Dodgers’ setup man for closer Kenley Jansen . . .Mike Napoli passed his physical, clearing the way for an $8.5 million, one-year deal and his third stint with the Texas Rangers . . . Atlanta Braves infielder Sean Rodriguez underwent surgery to repair the rotator cuff in his left shoulder. General manager John Coppolella said Rodriguez will miss an ‘‘indeterminate period of time,’’ but indicated the team ‘‘won’t rule him out for the year.’’ Rodriguez, who agreed to an $11.5 million, two-year contract with Atlanta in November, hurt his shoulder when a vehicle he was driving was rammed by a stolen police car in Miami on Jan. 28.
Elbow surgery for Cardinals’ Reyes
The St. Louis Cardinals said righthander Alex Reyes, 22, will have Tommy John surgery to replace a ruptured elbow ligament in his pitching arm. Reyes suffered the injury throwing during a pre-spring training side session . . . The Kansas City Royals finalized a two-year, $12 million deal with former Cubs lefthander Travis Wood, 30, who hoped to earn a starting spot in a rotation shaken by the death of Yordano Ventura in a car accident last month.
