Thursday mornings are always pretty busy at Blackbird Doughnuts.

This week, though, it was a little different.

After Grammy-winning singer Adele sang the praises of the shop’s Boston creme bismarck doughnuts (below) during her TD Garden concert Wednesday night (see review, bottom), Blackbird was besieged by customers seeking the Adele-approved item.

“They sold out by 9 a.m.,’’ said Blackbird owner Rebecca Roth Gullo, who also owns The Gallows and Banyan Bar + Refuge.

Around 10 Wednesday night, Roth Gullo says, she began receiving a barrage of texts and e-mails from people informing her of Adele’s comments. Eventually, she was able to piece together what had transpired, and by Thursday morning, she said, she and her staff were “over the moon about it.’’

“Can I tell you we are major Adele fans?’’ she says. “We’re just totally awestruck.’’

Though no stranger to high-profile guests — Bill Clinton and a wide array of professional athletes have dined at Roth Gullo’s establishments — Wednesday’s episode represented the most high-profile shout-out to date.

“Every other customer that joined us this morning had either been at the concert or read something about the concert,’’ said Anna Perna, Blackbird’s head baker.

After some discussion with Adele’s people, meanwhile, Blackbird arranged to provide an undisclosed number of the Boston creme doughnuts to the musician and her entourage prior to Thursday’s show.

To facilitate the extra demand, meanwhile, the South End shop is also planning to up its Boston creme output in the coming days.

“I can tell you that throughout the weekend we’re making many more of them,’’ Roth Gullo says.

On Thursday, Roth Gullo was still processing the shock that comes when one of the world’s most famous entertainers publicly applauds your business. Initially, she said, she and her husband had considered buying tickets to one of Adele’s Boston shows.

And though they eventually decided against it, in the end, that might have been for the best.

Says Roth Gullo, “I seriously would have passed out if I were there.’’
