Shooting at Texas housing complex leaves four dead
BASTROP, Texas — Four people, including the suspect, were found dead after a man opened fire Saturday evening at an apartment complex in Bastrop, police said.
The gunman is believed to have turned the weapon on himself after killing two women and a child, investigators said.
Another child was taken from to the hospital with minor injuries.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
Dawn Adams, a spokeswoman for the Bastrop County sheriff’s office, confirmed that the suspect was dead and the scene was secured.
Adams said officers received a call about the attack at 6:13 p.m.
Bastrop is a town of about 7,500 people, 35 miles southeast of Austin.
