Vice presidential candidates Tim Kaine and Mike Pence covered a lot of ground in their one and only debate Tuesday, but a topic that didn’t come up is Kaine’s fondness for the Replacements. Hillary Clinton’s running mate has said several times that the Minneapolis band fronted by Paul Westerberg is one of his favorites, especially their 1984 LP “Let It Be.’’ That won over at least one voter: Boston busker Chelsea Spear. A ukulele player who’s a familiar presence at T stops, Spear is a big fan of the Replacements and is delighted that someone who knows the lyrics to the band’s song “Tommy Gets His Tonsils Out’’ could be a heartbeat away from the presidency. To show her support, Spear (and her buddy Chris Barrett of the band Kingsley Flood) made a video inviting Kaine to perform the Replacements’ song “I Will Dare’’ with her in an MBTA station of his choice.
