A 6-foot-7 junior forward on the on the Daniel Webster men’s basketball team, Best averaged 28 points and 12 rebounds in a 1-1 week. The Brockton High grad leads the Eagles in scoring (19.2 ppg.) and rebounding (10 rpg).

Fighting out of Boston Boxing and Fitness gym, Boran defeated Nicole Gagnon of Quincy by unanimous decision to claim the Female Featherweight title at the 70th Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship on Feb. 5.

WALPOLE

In her 15th season as the women’s basketball coach at Stonehill, the Norwood native earned her 300th career victory with a 71-64 overtime win over NE-10 rival Franklin Pierce. She has guided the Skyhawks to the NCAA Division 2 tourney 10 times.
