The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection celebration in New York on Thursday drew some Boston-area names in elaborate ball gowns. Newton singer Rachel Platten (pictured) was the night’s performer. Guests included Longmeadow’s Bridget Moynahan and “Orange Is the New Black’’ actress Diane Guerrero, who’s from Boston. Other stars at the event at the Hammerstein Ballroom included Katie Holmes, Maureen McCormick, and Star Jones. The Go Red For Women campaign aims to keep people aware of women and heart disease.
