It was her belief in angels who help guide us, said Kelly Kascavitch, that led to her to write a self-published book, “Mommy, What Are Angels?’’ released in late 2015 for children up to age 8.
“It was important for me for children to learn about angels,’’ said Kascavitch, 35, a Walpole native now living in Mansfield. “I was in my mid-20s when I started communicating with my angels. I wrote about it for my niece for her christening and felt inspired years later to share it with others.’’
The book is about a mother and her child “asking precious questions a child might have about angels, who asks ‘How can they have wings?’ and ‘How do they learn to fly?,’ ’’ she said. “It basically teaches them what they are, where they’re from, and mostly about unconditional love and lifelong support.’’
She believes children are inherently more open to spiritual matters than adults. She’s at work on another book, “Rainbow Bodies,’’ geared toward children ages 5 to about 12.
“I’m writing it to teach about chakras, the energy systems in our bodies,’’ she said. “We focus on our physical bodies, but our energetic bodies don’t get much attention.’’
Kascavitch also owns Synergy Muscular Therapy, with locations in Mansfield and Walpole. She is a licensed massage therapist and a certified Reiki 3 and IET (Integrated Energy Therapy) practitioner as well, and she has trained individuals and taught group fitness classes for 16 years.
She also teaches “Angels 101,’’working with children to answer their questions and to help them focus on breathing and grounding exercises and meditation to help them meet their own guardian angels. Her hope is to get her first book into Boston Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and children’s bereavement centers. It can be found at websites for Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and www.kellykas.com
For now, the recently married Kascavitch has no children. “I hope to be a mom someday,’’ she said. “But I have seven nieces and nephews to keep me busy.’’
