Town gives The Boss more time to play
Good news for fans of The Boss. If Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s shows aren’t long enough for you, you’ll be happy to hear that they will have an extra 15 minutes to perform than originally expected at their Sept. 14 show at Gillette Stadium. Foxborough selectmen decided last week to extend the curfew from 11:15 to 11:30 p.m. for the show, which is the last concert of Springsteen’s River Tour and the last show at Gillette for the stadium’s concert season. Springsteen’s shows are notoriously long; he often plays for 3½ hours with no openers and no breaks. At a recent show at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, he played his longest US set ever, performing 34 songs that clocked in at more than four hours.
