Bobby Brown appeared on the “Steve Harvey’’ show on Wednesday and talked about his new memoir, “Every Little Step.’’ During the episode he told Harvey how New Edition came to be. Brown said he was doing talent shows every weekend, and “All of a sudden I realized I was way too shy to be onstage by myself.’’ He asked Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins to join him onstage, then they got Ralph Tresvant involved. “All of a sudden we were a group. Come a year later, we had a single. It just went that quick,’’ Brown said, snapping his fingers. When Harvey asked him what it was like touring so young, Brown laughed and replied: “We had a ball.’’ Brown also spoke to Harvey about how he used drugs with Whitney Houston (“There was no introducing her to anything. She already knew what she knew about drugs.’’) and his feelings for Janet Jackson. “I had a real crush on her,’’ said Brown. “I was absolutely head over heels for her.’’
