Anthony Davis scored a franchise-record and NBA season-high 59 points and pulled down 20 rebounds as the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Detroit Pistons, 111-106, on Sunday in Auburn Hills, Mich.

The previous club record was 50 points by Jamal Mashburn, set exactly 13 years earlier against the Grizzlies. Davis went 24 of 34 from the floor, made his only two 3-pointers, and was 9 of 10 from the foul line.

Davis had 19 points in the fourth quarter and broke the scoring record for the Palace of Auburn Hills, set by LeBron James with 48 points in an Eastern Conference finals game on June 1, 2007.

Davis joined Shaquille O'Neal and Chris Webber as the only NBA players with 50 points and 20 rebounds in a game since 1983.

Jrue Holiday came off the bench and scored 20 points for the Pelicans — the only other player to reach double figures for New Orleans.

Reggie Jackson led the Pistons with 34 points.

Davis had 14 points in the third quarter, giving him 40 in the game, and the Pelicans led, 80-75, going into the final period. Detroit scored the first 6 points of the fourth with Davis on the bench, but he returned with 10:02 to play and scored 19 points in the final 10 minutes.

Cavaliers 115, Thunder 92 — Kevin Love led visiting Cleveland with 29 points as the Cavaliers won their fifth straight. LeBron James finished with 25 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds.

Love shot 9 of 18 from the field and 11 of 12 from the free throw line. Kyrie Irving sat out after the first quarter because of flu-like symptoms.

Kevin Durant scored 26 points and Russell Westbrook had 20 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds in the Thunder’s most lopsided defeat of the season.

Spurs 118, Suns 111 — Patty Mills had 21 points to help San Antonio pull away for a surprisingly difficult victory in Phoenix.

Tony Parker scored 22 points for San Antonio, including a spinning drive through the lane that made it a 7-point game with 1:03 to play. LaMarcus Aldridge added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Spurs, who played without ailing All-Star Kawhi Leonard (calf tightness).

Pacers 105, Magic 102 — Monta Ellis scored 21 points and Paul George added 20 as visiting Indiana won for the fourth time in five games.

C.J. Miles and Ian Mahinmi had 14 points apiece for the Pacers. Evan Fournier led Orlando with 23 points.

Mavericks 129, 76ers 103 — Wesley Matthews (21 points) and Dirk Nowitzki (18) led host Dallas to its highest scoring game of the season.

Jahlil Okafor scored a career-high 31 points for Philadelphia, which has lost eight of nine. Okafor’s total was not only his highest as a pro, but 1 more than his high total during his one-and-done national championship season at Duke last year.

After playing three consecutive overtime games, the Mavericks were able to relax a bit in the fourth quarter. Dallas grabbed control in the second quarter, scoring 38 points and making 16 of 17 free-throw attempts while erasing an early eight-point deficit. Dallas finished the game 34 of 36 at the line.

Nowitzki went over 29,000 career points with a 3-pointer with 10:21 left in the third quarter. He is sixth in scoring in NBA history.

Forward Jerami Grant played despite being poked in the eye for the third time this season on Friday night. Sixers coach Brett Brown, when asked what Grant has shown him this season, quipped: ‘‘He’s shown me that he needs goggles.’’

Raptors 98, Grizzlies 85 — DeMar DeRozan netted 21 points, Kyle Lowry added 18, and Toronto ran its home win streak to eight games.

Jonas Valanciunas had 10 points and 12 rebounds for his 13th double-double of the season. Cory Joseph scored 14 off the bench to help the Raptors rebound from consecutive losses at Minnesota and Chicago.

Hornets 104, Nets 96 — Charlotte won its fifth in a row overall behind Kemba Walker’s 28 points.

Al Jefferson added 18 points in his second game back from right knee surgery and Nicolas Batum had 16 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds for the Hornets, who improved to 6-1 in February.

Joe Johnson scored 17 points for the Nets in their final game before a nine-game road trip.

Bulls 126, Lakers 115 — E’Twaun Moore, Derrick Rose, and Pau Gasol each scored more than 20 points for host Chicago.

Trail Blazers 115, Jazz 111 — CJ McCollum (31 points) and Damian Lillard (30) helped surging Portland turn back visiting Utah.
