A classy cocktail in Cleveland Circle

Amid Mary Ann’s and Eagle’s Deli, old-school staples in the collegiate enclave of Cleveland Circle, Jade Monkey is the new kid on the block. The stylish, Asian-inspired restaurant and bar is a welcome addition to the Brighton neighborhood, especially its drink menu in an area not known for cocktails. The Seoul Mate is a perfect way to slide into summer, light and refreshing, equally sweet and tart. Making good use of Jade Monkey’s cordials license, the drink relies on Low & Slow’s Rock and Rye (a rye concoction flavored with rock candy), housemade grenadine, lemon juice, and elderflower. james reed
