Celtics forward Jae Crowder has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for his postgame altercation with Wizards guard John Wall on Wednesday, the league announced Saturday.
The league fined Wall $15,000 for his part.
After the final buzzer, Crowder and Wall exchanged words before Crowder reached out and poked Wall in the nose with his right index finger. Wall then swiped at Crowder and players from both teams had to be separated.
Crowder said the video was self-explanatory.
A few minutes after the incident, there was another confrontation in the hallway that separates the teams’ locker rooms in the bowels of TD Garden. Four Boston police officers were brought in to ensure that the situation did not escalate.
The Celtics and Wizards will face each other in Washington on Jan. 24.
