Two teenagers were arrested after an 18-year-old man was shot inside a Stoughton CVS store Thursday, and police asked for the public’s help in locating a third suspect they described as armed and dangerous.
An arrest warrant was issued for Marcus Pierre-Louis, 23. “Do not attempt to contact or approach him if you believe you’ve seen him,’’ Stoughton police said Friday in a statement.
Stoughton police have also asked the State Police fugitive squad to assist them in their search for Pierre-Louis.
Earlier Friday, Stoughton police Chief Donna McNamara said two teenagers, ages 14 and 16 years old, were arrested for their alleged roles in the shooting inside the CVS on Central Street, on Thursday afternoon.
The teens will be charged with conspiracy, assault with intent to kill, and assault and battery, McNamara said in a news conference.
The pair, whose names were not released because they are minors, were arraigned Friday in a closed-door session of juvenile court.
Pierre-Louis and the two teens allegedly entered the Central Street store and confronted an 18-year-old man before one of them shot him in the shoulder, McNamara said.
The suspects knew the victim, she said.
Police said in a statement Thursday that they didn’t believe the shooting was random, but they also didn’t think it was related to gang activity. No one else was injured.
A CVS spokesman said the company believes the shooting took place near the front checkout counter, and the store was closed temporarily while police processed the scene.
Anyone with information about Pierre-Louis is asked to call Stoughton police at 781-344-2424.
