THE WALLPAPER

In line with her trademark “blending grandeur with Bohemian flair’’ aesthetic, designer Heidi Pribell used neutral grass-cloth wallpaper with gold metallic threads in this Cambridge living room. “It dresses up the room,’’ she says.

THE NICHE

Pribell of Pribell Interiors of Cambridge lined a former closet with holographic wallpaper from Osborne and Little that gives off an effect she likens to fire. “It seems alive,’’ she says, “playing with light and moving when you do.’’ The étagère is by Oly.

THE LIGHTING

A sinuous chandelier from Visual Comfort’s “E.F. Chapman Ruhlmann’’ collection in antique-burnished brass adds a dreamy touch to the top of the room.

THE ART

The landscape painting is by local artist Julia Purinton of Medusa Studio, who also created what Pribell describes as a “phantasmagorical’’ mural in the dining room.

THE FIREPLACE

The granite surround and hearth of the ethanol fireplace insert have exposed natural edges that “pull nature into the room,’’ Pribell says.

THE RUG

The hand-tufted wool rug with aqua scrolls, from Ballard Designs, adds subtle pattern and color. “The adjacent dining room is colorific,’’ says Pribell, “so this had to be more subdued.’’

THE TABLES

The oval shape of the marble and hammered- gilded-iron coffee table from Global Views allows for better flow in a small space. A mother- of-pearl side table sits between a pair of tufted chairs, all by Bernhardt, upholstered in a punchy teal leather.
