Despite the gloomy weather, Action for Boston Community Development (the nonprofit known as ABCD) hosted its 19th annual “Field of Dreams’’ softball tournament at Fenway Park on June 28 — without any softball. The games scheduled were rained out, but the show still went on. Nearly 1,000 people showed up, and the event raised $400,000 for the organization’s SummerWorks program, which provides summer jobs to kids in Boston.

Former New England Patriot Max Lane was there, and WCVB-TV anchor Maria Stephanos served as the emcee.
