Drew MacKenzie, Jonathan Huberdeau, Brandon Pirri and Corban Knight also scored for Atlantic Division-leading Florida in the opener of a season-high six-game road trip. Roberto Luongo made 31 saves to improve his career record against Buffalo to 18-7.
Ryan O’Reilly scored for the Sabres, who have lost five straight games in regulation and fell to 0-4-1 in their last five home games.
Flyers 4, Canadiens 3 — Brayden Schenn had a goal and two assists to help Philadelphia beat Montreal to snap a three-game losing streak. The Canadiens have lost 12 of 15 overall.
Wayne Simmonds, Shayne Gostisbehere and Sean Couturier also scored for the Flyers.
Brendan Gallagher, Daniel Carr and Alex Galchenyuk netted goals for the Canadiens, who finished an eight-game road stretch 2-6.
Rangers 6, Stars 2 — Derek Stepan scored two goals and Ricky Nash had three assists to lead host New York.
Jayson Megna had a goal and an assist, Kevin Klein had two assists and Keith Yandle, Derick Brassard and Viktor Stalberg added goals for the Rangers, who improved to 22-14-4. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 22 of 24 shots.
John Klingberg and Antoine Roussel scored for Dallas, which fell to 28-10-4. Antti Niemi made 23 saves.
The Stars were swept in their three-game trip to the New York area. Dallas was outscored by an combined 15-9 margin in its losses to the Devils, Islanders and the Rangers.
Blackhawks 3, Penguins 2 — Artemi Panarin beat Marc-Andre Fleury 3:47 into overtime to lift visiting Chicago.
Panarin finished with two goals, including the winner off a feed from Patrick Kane as Chicago fended off resilient Pittsburgh, which rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the third period behind goals from Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang.
Jets 4, Predators 1 — Drew Stafford scored a pair of power-play goals to lead visiting Winnipeg over Nashville, which has lost three of four. Connor Hellebuyck made 43 saves for the Jets, turning aside 17 shots in the first, 12 in the second, and 14 in the third.
Jonathan Toews got his 14th goal of the season for Chicago.
Kane finished with two assists to boost his point total to an NHL-best 59. Corey Crawford made 34 saves for the Blackhawks, who have won four straight.
Crosby scored his 12th of the season and sixth in six games to start Pittsburgh’s comeback. Letang added his fourth with a shot from the point with 2:50 to play to force overtime.
Fleury stopped 27 shots in the first game of a home-and-home with the defending Stanley Cup champions.
Wild 4, Blue Jackets 2 — Zach Parise scored his fourth career hat trick and second this season to lead visiting Minnesota over Columbus.
Parise’s empty-net goal with 57 seconds left gave Minnesota a 3-1 lead. Nick Foligno cut the deficit to one 41 seconds later, a goal that was challenged by the Wild but upheld.
Mikael Granlund won the ensuing faceoff and scored into Columbus’ empty net again 2 seconds later. Granlund also had two assists, as did Ryan Suter.Cam Atkinson also had a goal for the Blue Jackets.
Parise scored his second goal during a 4-on-4 in the second period. Columbus held a power play for 17 seconds following a high-sticking call on Justin Fontaine before referees whistled David Savard for hooking.
Colin Wilson had the lone goal for Nashville.
Winnipeg scored the only goal of the first, when Stafford connected on the power play at 10:43.
