Media misstepped in making such a big deal of Clinton’s health

RE “Hillary needs a Dutch uncle (or aunt)’’ (Opinion, Sept. 14): Hillary Clinton certainly should have followed her doctor’s advice and rested when it was prescribed. She’d have felt better sooner. But Scot Lehigh’s suggestion that the outcome vis-a-vis the media and the anti-Clinton machine would have been any different is either naive or disingenuous.

First, people walk around sick all the time. Right or wrong, they don’t take time off from work.

Second, the brouhaha her minor illness caused provided the perfect smoke screen for the media to blah blah about it for days, as though Clinton had personally insulted them. She hadn’t.

Finally, the story diverted everyone’s attention from the really bad, dishonest, dangerous details emerging about Donald Trump. Once again, Trump played the media and played them big-time. She is fine. He is not.
