Ticks: The health agent from the Halifax Board of Health will team up with a public health nurse from NVNA and Hospice to teach about treatment and prevention of tick-borne diseases. The free presentation will be on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m., at the Holmes Public Library.

Rent a bike: Through the end of September, Marion residents 18 and older can rent a bike and a helmet for the day from the Elizabeth Taber Library. A photo ID and a library card are needed.

Tennis clinic: Youngsters in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to two free hours of instruction from TGA Premier Youth Tennis. The clinic will be held Sunday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Marshfield High School. Equipment will be provided.

Dedication: The town will dedicate a chair at Town Hall for prisoners of war and those missing in action, at a ceremony Saturday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. The chair will honor Maureen Dunn of Randolph, a co-founder of the National League of POW/MIA Families, who died in 2013.

Tutors needed: The Thomas Crane Public Library is seeking volunteers to work with adults on improving their reading and writing skills. A volunteer orientation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room.
